A “Personalized Medicine” Team Approach
Speaker Dr. Robert Levine
The purpose of this course is to learn about a beneficial approach to implant practices for periodontists. The course will provide 3.5 CE credit hours.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss the careful diagnosis and evidenced-based management of soft and hard tissues and their appropriate sequence in therapy for implant site development procedures.
Recognize the benefits of the use of biologic modifiers to “supercharge” soft and hard tissue healing in the various surgical applications that are performed daily in our practices.
Discuss the benefits of the use of various bone grafting materials and when used (allograft vs. xenograft).
Understand the diagnostic, surgical and prosthetic checklist: “The Updated 10 Keys” for implant site treatment.
About the Speaker
Dr. Robert Levine
Dr. Robert A. Levine is a distinguished periodontist who practiced for over 35 years at the Pennsylvania Center for Dental Implants and Periodontics in Philadelphia. A graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry (1981) and a periodontics specialist trained at the University of Pennsylvania (1984), Dr. Levine holds teaching positions at several universities, including Temple University, University of North Carolina, University of Illinois Chicago, and University of Pittsburgh.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is involved with numerous professional organizations, including being the President of the International Society of Periodontal Plastic Surgeons (FISPPS) and a leader within the Academy of Osseointegration (AO). Dr. Levine is also a prolific author, with over 100 publications and several book chapters to his name.
His teaching and mentorship focus on advanced periodontology and dental implantology, particularly in areas like soft and hard tissue regeneration and complex dental implant cases. He formed the "10 Keys Implant-Efili.Q, Clinical Research Group" to reduce complications in dental implant procedures through clinical checklists, contributing to notable research papers.
In 2024, Dr. Levine will assume the role of US ITI Section President Chair.
